Test/Sample data for aws-devicefarm action

Introduction

This repository contains various files useful for testing, evaluating or taking into use the AWS devicefarm action.

The following file types - all downloadable from the release page, and usable as remote source in the actions - are available:

Python packages

The tests directory contains some dummy python tests. This is useful for making the AWS upload validator happy when only using custom tests without any of the AWS supported frameworks.

Packages are built with and without wheelhouse, for python2 and python3. AWS requires a wheelhouse directory for the default test specification, but it can be safely omitted to reduce the archive size for custom specifications.

When using a custom test specification typically the python3 package without wheelhouse is the one to use.

For using the default specification a python2 one with wheelhouse is required - AWS only supports ancient python versions in that mode.

Test specification

The file test_spec.yaml contains a sample test specification for the included sample application. Outside of unit testing this is mainly useful for quickly testing a workflow before plugging in own applications.

Android test application

The directory android contains a minimalistic application showing how to include instrumentation tests in a single binary - mainly useful for teshing libraries, not so much for actually shipping an application.

Additionally it shows how to pass parameters to an application invoked by am in regular and instrumentation modes.
