Summary

When VoiceOver is activated and AblePlayer 4.5 is configured to play a YouTube video, VoiceOver says "Close" multiple times, making it disturbing and in some cases impossible to experience the video and the webpage.

This issue affects all the videos embedded on the W3C WAI website, see for example https://www.w3.org/WAI/videos/standards-and-benefits/

Test Environment

  • AblePlayer 4.5
  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iOS 17.4.1
  • Chrome 124.0.6367.111 or Safari

Steps to reproduce

  1. Make sure you are using an iPhone with VoiceOver activated.
  2. Go to a webpage with AblePlayer 4.5 & the YouTube player, using Chrome or Safari. See for example https://ableplayer.github.io/ableplayer/demos/youtube1.html\
❌ During the page load, VoiceOver says "Cl.. Cl.. Cl... Cl... Close" multiple times
  3. Play the video
❌ Every time a caption line is displayed, VoiceOver says "Close".

This issue is not present when using the Vimeo player (https://ableplayer.github.io/ableplayer/demos/vimeo1.html) nor when using MP4/WebM source files (https://ableplayer.github.io/ableplayer/demos/video1.html)
