I manually downloaded an update for an app and once the download was finished, nothing happened. So I taped the update button again thinking it may trigger the app update but it started a second download instead. In the middle of the second download, I got the notification that the app was updated.

I would like to propose three improvements to this use case:

  • An indicator that an installation/update is in progress (not the download but the operation itself)
  • Do not download an app if it is in cache
  • Add a way to cancel a download

I ran into the same issue with updating a large app (molly). Some kind of visual feedback of the started installation process would be good.
