populate historical data?

I want to build a comprehensive historical database. I was able to run currency_historical_rate_load using the federal_reserve source, but it only grabbed today's data. Then I tried passing a Time object to the convert method in the federal reserve source, but convert returns nil when I do that. You have any suggestions for mass populating historical data?

Maybe someone out there has already done this and has a fully populated db?
