Factory Pattern

Definition: Creates objects without exposing the instantiation logic to the client.

When to use: Client just need a class and does not care about which concrete implementation it is getting.

Versions:

  • Naive: The most basic implementation.
  • DiContainer: ActivatorUtilities is used as a factory for types that haven't been registered in the DI container, but have dependencies that are registered in it.
  • DiContainerV2: An optimized versios of the previous one. This will pre-calculate the constructor based on the types passed and build a factory for it.
  • GenericTypeFactory: A generic factory that can resolve the TService from the DI container or creates an instance if it's not in the container.
  • LazyFactory: Lazy initialization of services. Lazy<T> could also be used as-is if added with a concrete type at service registration time:
