@fabian-s Helmut is interested in a package with mgcv convenience functions. He also said he would finance a HIWI to work on it. Do you know someone who would be interested?

TODOs:

  • split of general functionality, e.g. make_newdata, tidy_smooth, gg_smooth, ...
  • make functions more robust for more complex cases like s(x, by = factor) etc.
  • add functions to extract and visualize model checks

Some functionality specific to PAMMs will remain in pammtools
