code-freeze is not enabled on release branches, and remove "master" from freeze for branched repos #3703

release branches do not seem to trigger the code-freeze block...
I am suspecting it maybe due to the regex used which I don't think support replication count eg:{4} see https://docs.github.com/en/actions/using-workflows/workflow-syntax-for-github-actions#filter-pattern-cheat-sheet
Maybe needs to be:

branches: [ "v[0-9]+.[0-9]+.[0-9]+" ]

We also want to remove the "master" branch from being frozen for repos that are branched, ie:

  • temurin-build
  • ci-jenkins-pipelines
  • jenkins-helper
