If you select a font that doesn't support your input/target language, the font won't actually be used in the respective transcription/translation boxes. The browser will fall back to a font that works for the language.

A language-aware fontpicker, or dynamically swapping out language-specific fontpickers, could fix this.

As a workaround, custom fonts can be specified. Custom fonts need to be installed into the browser by the user manually.
