How to use put_async.py?

I'm trying to use put_async.py from the example however I'm getting an error:

error: -1, Support for async is disabled, build software with async option, src/main/client/put_async.c, 184

What should be done to resolve it?

The async functions in the current Python client are unfinished and not meant to be used. We are currently developing a new Python client with async functions.

is there any updates on an async python client?
Would be great if you could let me know if there are any third party aio clients i can use in production.

a couple of clients i found were either in public archive or are not ready for production.
