Few things that can be implemented to improve the usability of color samplers:

Indicate channel name and its range
Selection to toggle values among, e.g., RGB, CMYK and LAB
Ability to specify custom value range; e.g., 0-1, 0,255 and %s
Ability to select a region and get the average value
