Environment

  • Airbyte version: example is 0.22.0-alpha
  • OS Version / Instance: example macOS, Windows 7/10, Ubuntu 18.04, GCP n2. , AWS EC2
  • Deployment: example are Docker or Kubernetes deploy env
  • Source Connector and version: (if applicable example Salesforce 0.2.3)
  • Destination Connector and version: (if applicable example Postgres 0.3.3)
  • Step where error happened: Deploy / Sync job / Setup new connection / Update connector / Upgrade Airbyte

Current Behavior

  • Airtable is revoking Airbyte third-party access causing 400 and 401 failures.
  • Users to have to reauthenticate their connector to workaround this currently.
  • Email from Airtable:
    232820257-b764e510-2582-4e7f-a530-20763790d4b3

Expected Behavior

  • Airtable should allow Airbyte third-party access.
  • Users shouldn't have to reauthenticate their connector after initial setup.

@lazebnyi we're keeping this open for users to be able to have an issue to follow in the public repo as oncall issues can't be seen by public.

Hi is there an update on this? Just seen a notice from Airtable that API tokens are being deprecated. Given that this is the current workaround proposed by Airbyte, I don't believe there will be any working integration with Airtable from February (from now if you don't already have an API token as new ones cannot be created).

@jnr0790 Can you give an update on this please?

@john-verran there are no updates on this at the moment, unfortunately. This is a backlog ticket that the eng team should update when they're actively working on it.
In the meantime, you can avoid this issue by setting up the Airtable connector using the Personal Access Token option on setup.
