Currently if i tell my ships to attack, they will encounter the target at 
minimum range (lasers). If i want to do distance attack, i have to carefully go 
near the target, watching the shot range and then tell them to 'guard'. 
Attacking space stations would be comfortable with a 'distance attack' button.

We have balancing issues already, I'm not sure such advantage would be good.

This is not concerns balance. You can do this with simply moving and watching 
the shoot range, then switching to guard. But you could do this with a single 
button click. Actually i have an idea, i'll post another issue with it.
