Which operating system does the issue occur on?
OSX Mojave

If on linux, are you using X11 or Wayland?
N/A

I cannot use Ctrl-W to work with splits in vim.

Turned out the problem is I'm using layout Dvorak on MacOS.

Then alacritty sometimes recognizes keys as in the layout, sometimes as the exact keys on keyboard.

I'm using dvorak on linux myself and can't reproduce this issue. Alacritty currently doesn't change the layout on macos while it's running iirc, might that be the problem?

If that is the case, this is a duplicate.

I suspect this issue is duplicated of #458
