Summary

  • We have collected the set of project ideas that anyone in the community can take a lead on
  • They can join the third and fourth cohort of OLS program with one of the projects
  • They can independently carry out these projects by recruiting other community members to join them in their effort

What needs to be done?

  • Curating community report
  • Managing communication platform
  • Writing monthly newsletter - @aleesteele starting this initiative
  • Video tutorials for new contributors (contributing via GitHub, writing new chapters, reviewing PRs)
  • Help document The Turing Way history (interview-based project)
  • Trend scanning for reproducibility in Data Science and AI: will be mentored by @martinagvilas - done in OLS-3
  • Developing case studies for The Turing Way Guide for Project Design
  • Developing case studies for The Turing Way Guide for Ethical Research
  • Bringing Data Feminism Perspective to The Turing Way
  • Assessing The Turing Way’s community health and its impact on the wider data science community - ongoing and OLS-4 contributors are invited
  • Open and reproducible translation pipeline (something in that direction)
  • Developing interoperability pathways in The Turing Way for other open-source projects
  • Improving UX/UI experience for The Turing Way readers
  • More ideas are welcome ...

Who can help?

  • Existing and new community members

Another idea: Improving reusability of The Turing Way illustration in different languages.

  • This will involve translating Scriberia images in different languages, starting with Spanish, Chinese and French where our book translations are going on. This might not directly fit in OLS, but happy to be proven wrong :D

Is the title meant to say existing rather than exiting?
