  • Elementary OS 0.4.1
  • Pantheon
  • Qt version = 5.5.1-2ubuntu6
  • Albert version = 0.11.1
  • How you installed Albert = ppa
  • Steps to reproduce
    • Open Albert settings
    • Select Firefox plugin
    • Change Firefox profile for developer edition
  • Expected behaviour
    • Show remembered I selected profile of developer edition
  • Actual behaviour
    • Selected default profile

Problem: After I select profile of Firefox developer edition in settings and reopen Albert settings it shows profile of Firefox stable release as selected...

Effect: I use Firefox stable release, and Firefox developer edition. But Firefox dev edition for most part. If I save new bookmark in Firefox dev edition, they don't show in Albert. It is because Albert is showing bookmarks of Firefox stable release which are unsyced to new bookmarks.

Albert version = 0.11.1

Albert 0.11.1 got released about a year ago. Would you mind to update your installation?

As far as I can see, Elementary 0.4.1 is built on Ubuntu 16.04.2, so I guess you can install the official OBS packages (which will always be up to date). For the instructions, go to the OBS page and click on Ubuntu and then Repository and follow the instructions for Ubuntu 16.04.

These are the instructions:

wget -nv https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:manuelschneid3r/xUbuntu_16.10/Release.key -O Release.key
sudo apt-key add - < Release.key
sudo apt-get update

sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/manuelschneid3r/xUbuntu_16.04/ /' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/home:manuelschneid3r.list"
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install albert

I have already tried the latest versions (0.14, 0.13), they don't show applications in search. Thus falling using 0.11.

@js-d-coder you may be one of the guys who did not realize that there is a settings dialog. Please update. If you have problems with the current version join the chats to rule out the problem. I dont think that such a basic problem extists. Well I hope so, otherwise nobody ever used the firefox extension. 😄

@ManuelSchneid3r I am one of those guys who research before posting issue.
And yes, I know there is a settings dialog in Albert. I have tried changing the selected profile of firefox there.
I came here as an intention to help improve albert for everybody.
If you don't care before closing the issue, I don't care either...

Relax. I do care. Since 0.11 is stone age old, I strongly assume this issue is outdated and because the following discussion is not relly a software bug but support I closed the issue and invited to the chat.

Didnt mean to be offensive. Its just often the case that people just installed albert and directly post an issue. (Github somehow contributes to the loss of quality of bug reports).

Please update albert and join one of the chats. We will continue the discussion there.
