Can't launch hudson-notifier on Ubuntu 12.04

Environment:
Ubuntu 12.04, 64 bit, (official) Unity 3d.
I've performed all steps from the "Installation" wiki paragraph and now trying to launch an app with command
./opt/alberto-hudson-notifier/src/hudson_notifier.py
from terminal. Script blocks console with no output and no tray icon appears. Ctrl+C successfully terminates the process.

The same problem here but on Ubuntu 13.04. I would really like to use this.
