Hello,

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ /opt/AlexaPi/src/main.py -d INFO: feat.c(715): Initializing feature stream to type: '1s_c_d_dd', ceplen=13, CMN='batch', VARNORM='no', AGC='none' |
Hello,
Emerick |
I too am having the exact same problem. |
@PeterH888 yes sorry it's |
no problems. here are the results from aplay -l and aplay -L pi@raspberrypi:~ $ aplay -l pi@raspberrypi:~ $ aplay -L pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord -l pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord -L Thanks in advance for checking these out |
Ok @PeterH888 Alsa seems to detect with no problems your devices. |
Thanks EmerickH, I'll give that try. |
Hi EmerickH, I have removed Raspian Pixel and installed Raspian Lite. Installed Alexapi from git-hub instructions, configured alsa to my usb mic and 3.5 speaker jack and on boot I hear "hello". When I use the wake word "Alexa", Alexa replies with "yes". When I ask a question I get no response but after 8-9 secs I can again use the wake word and Alexa replies with "yes". What am I missing here. pi@raspberrypi:~ $ aplay -l pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord -l |
This is the result I get from 2017-06-20 22:23:09 DEBUG: Stopping audio play At this point I start talking 2017-06-20 22:23:18 DEBUG: End recording the recording finishes without any voice being recorded as indicated by the "Request Response is NULL" 2017-06-20 22:23:19 DEBUG: Processing Request Response... |
Hello @PeterH888, Emerick |
here is the result or arecord -L |
So you must put |
sudo nano /etc/opt/AlexaPi/config.yaml Name of your ALSA microphone/soundcard in arecord -L playback_handler: "vlc" output: "alsa" output_device: "default" still gets me no response 2017-06-20 22:59:22 DEBUG: Stopping audio play |
This is what I get with: arecord pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord -f S16_LE -r 16000 -D plughw:CARD=Microphone,DEV=0 test.wav or this pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord -f S16_LE -r 16000 -D "plughw:CARD=Microphone,DEV=0" test.wav |
@PeterH888 have you closed the service before? |
not that I can remember |
@EmerickH 2017-06-21 00:00:41 DEBUG: Setting up playback handler: VlcHandler |
@EmerickH So I have done as suggested and installed pulse audio and this is what I get from here. pi@raspberrypi:/tmp $ sudo journalctl -u AlexaPi.service |
Closing due to inactivity. Feel free to reopen. |
did you guys ever solve this? |

Description of problem:
System audio works fine because I've checked it with arecord and then aplay.
aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
arecord -f S16_LE -r 16000 -D pulse test.wav
aplay -f S16_LE -r 16000 test.wa
