ajax infinite loop

jQuery TextExt Plugin (in ajax mode) running an ajax infinite loop if the server doesn't return any data.

Exemple code :

  $('#textarea')
          .textext({
            plugins : 'autocomplete ajax',
            ajax : {
              loadingMessage:'test',
              url : "server url",
              dataType : 'json',
              cacheResults : true
            }
          });
  });

If server respond a "404 not found", the ajax autocomplete is still trying to contact the server and never stop.
