Hello @kevinadhiguna there's a known issue that exists with the snap version of Altair (see #1409). Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about this. I'll recommend using a different version (like the AppImage) for linux instead.

If you know how to fix the bug (or if there are any workarounds), do let me know and I'll be happy to revisit this issue. 🙂

My bad, I did not know the same issue already existed. However, back in mid 2020 when I first installed Altair client using Snap on Ubuntu it did not happen, just reporting. I also have no idea what's going on. Anyway, thanks a lot for responding @imolorhe.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Altair. Nevertheless, now it can't start just like #1313. Any help will be appreciated...

Seems to be another snap issue. Perhaps there's some error logs somewhere from snap that shows what went wrong?

Normally I don't run from Terminal but here is the log when I run it using Terminal :
altair-snap-bug

Please let me know if you have any ideas, thanks

Also, I tried to run altair_3.2.1_x86_64_linux.AppImage instead. Then it did not start :(
Here is what I saw :

Is this an issue on Linux based OS ? I have another Ubuntu (20.04 LTS using snap) machine running Altair GraphQL client v3.1.0 normally (without any issues including undefined fonts). How may I get Altair v3.1.0 ? Because I can not downgrade Altair GraphQL client in snap...

@kevinadhiguna Did you try with v3.2.2? You can get old versions in Github releases

I just tried using altair_3.2.2_x86_64_linux.AppImage and it worked like a charm ! However, if I install Altair using snap, it still gets me Altair v3.2.1, not the latest release which is v3.2.2. Would you mind upgrading Altair in snapcraft ? Thank you.

The Altair version in snapcraft is part of the release pipeline. Unfortunately when/if that fails, I can't release the snap version myself since I don't use a linux machine. Also the undefined fonts issue is still specific to snaps and I still don't know what the issue in snaps is, so I would still recommend the AppImage alternative for now.

PS: Can this issue then be closed, seeing as the font issue in snaps is known (#1409), making this a duplicate?

Sure, I will close this issue then. I appreciate you.
