[Temporary fix available] Known issue in v3.2.1 desktop app

Describe the bug
When launching the app v 3.2.1 on OSX, I only have an empty white screen.
When launching the app v 3.1.0 on OSX, it works correctly.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Download app v 3.2.1 from the site (or brew)
2. Run the app
3. See that the window is empty (sometimes the logo appears & disappears)

Expected behavior
3.2.1 should work on OSX as 3.1.0

I am having the same issue here. Running on BigSur on M1

Can you open the developer tools console Cmd+Opt+I to check and report what errors are shown there?

I remember there was nothing in the console, I was also surprised that there was nothing in the Elements tab, as if the app wasn't even loaded (after several minutes of waiting).
I reinstalled 3.2.1 to check it & take screenshots but the weirdest thing happened: it now works!

Steps:

• install 3.2.1, it doesn't work
• install 3.1.0, it works
• install 3.2.1, it now works.

😄 Well that was an easy fix. I upgraded the version of electron of the app so something related to that might be happening.

Same thing happened to me. Installed 3.2.1 dmg, didn't work. Installed 3.2.1 on homebrew, didn't work. Installed 3.1.0 from Github, worked! Got prompted for auto update, upgraded to 3.2.1 and it works now.

Installed 3.2.1 on a new laptop macOS 11.2.1, got same blank screen initially.

If wait a little big longer, saw an Altair logo in the middle and keeps flashing.

And it takes a lot of CPU:

@hongbo-miao can you try the fix as well? Open v3.1.1 and then open v3.2.1

I think I found the issue and would release it in the next version.
