Hi!

I don't know the internals of the protocol, but the speeds in amule are very slow in comparison with emule (with the same settings values - for the ones with the same name).

How did i tested:
1- Installed amule
2- installed wine and downloaded emule 0.50a
3- Searched for a generic term in emule.
4- Wait for the search to finish and wait copy the ed2k link for the result with the most sources.
5- Pasted the link in amule and started the download.
6- Started the download in emule.
7- Compared the speeds of both (emule reached 4.5MB/s while amule doesn't pass over 1MB/s)
8- Emule downloaded the file (486.88MB) in around 4 mins. Amule is estimating to finish the same file in more than 4 hours!

Now i don't know what kind of traffic/queue management is done, but this type of speed difference isn't normal or at least it shouldn't be and IMHO deserves to be analyzed.

I also checked the peers i was downloading from, and the speed was always a fraction of the speed achieved from the same peers with emule.

EDIT: Yes, i've been through the wiki

Amule Version: 2.3.3

I have the same problem. When I need to download something I need to change to windows because amule is far slower. Hope it will be fixed soon or someone can share a solution.
