If you are concerned about security and you don't want to share backend services with other people then you should host the web app on your private network.
By October 8 2021, web applications has been migrated from PHP to Golang and MySQL database it's not more needed. This changes unlock more flexibility and allow everyone to build the web app just by compiling the keelink-webapp source code using Golang.
