Very Interesting links

  • Mars Express HRSC data node Map-projected image data (V4) with coverage from January 1 through April 23, 2023. Note the orbit 3155 here with a ground resolution of approximately 16 m/pixel over Noctis Labyrinthus region. One interesting use is here.

  • Coordinate Systems for Planetary Mapping This work (2017) discusses the establishment of planetary mapping coordinate systems, focusing on the Galilean satellites. Currently, a planetographic system with west-positive longitude is used, but a proposal suggests switching to a planetocentric system with east-positive longitude. It outlines differences, historical context, rationale for the change, and implementation considerations.

  • SIM 3513 Sheet: Global Geologic Map of Europa The "Global Geologic Map of Europa" is a publication detailing the geological features of Jupiter's moon Europa. Authored by Erin J. Leonard, D. Alex Patthoff, and David A. Senske in 2024, it presents a comprehensive map depicting the surface geology, terrain, and features of Europa, aiding in planetary research and exploration.
