Idea: Always use the same xmpp resource name

Currently each connection to xmpp uses a new, random generated resource id.
This leads to a lot of dead connections on the server if the client reconnects often.

Is it better to always use the same resource id?
(Perhaps generated the first time the exchanger is set up)
