Currently when we make any meta-data changes to bugs, we are being added to the CC list of the bug, which can be quite annoying based on the CC settings of different bugzilla users.

Unchecking this might be preferable for some persons.

Is the suggestion that if a comment is added, then you should be added to the cc list? Otherwise don't add to the cc list?

I kinda think we should keep to the Bugzilla default, but if that's a flow that makes sense for people who triage lots of bugs, its easy enough to do. I've never worried about this because I just get lots of bug mail and filter it appropriately.

I configured bugzilla to only send me when bugs are opened, and the bugs on which I am CC-d on, so using the addon without removing this check-box will add more noise to my mail box.

So you can set this in your bugzilla preferences:

The add-on respects this and doesn't alter this setting. For example, if I set this to "never", I would never be added to the cc.

The thing is, I want to be CC'd on bugs when I am not triaging. I do not want to be CC'd on every bug.
So yes, if triaging were a time slot with no interruption, I could set it up before and after.

Alright, I just watched someone do this every time on a bug in a triage. Painful. Let's do this.
