Angular Update Guide lists no 'before' steps but has 'before' steps in update steps

The Angular Update Guide for v16 to v17 lists no 'before you update' steps, but then the first 3 steps of the upgrade steps have the phrase "before you upgrade" in them. This seems incorrect or at the very least, confusing. See attached screenshot.
