argparse natively supports displaying default values. Since we also know the type, it might make sense to add that information too, something like this:

def foo(bar=baz):
    """:param str bar: description'""

FOO    (str) description (default: baz)

Default values are implemented. Types could be formatted in manually or could just use argparse.MetavarTypeHelpFormatter.
