Checklist

  • I have used the search function for OPEN issues to see if someone else has already submitted the same bug report.
  • I have also used the search function for CLOSED issues to see if the problem is already solved and just waiting to be released.

App version

3.3.2

Where did you get the app from

Google Play

Android version

14

Device model

Pixel 6a

First occurred

months ago

Steps to reproduce

  • Disable Continuous playback in the settings
  • Listen a queued episode to the end

Expected behaviour

The queue shows the remaining episodes, and no playback positions are shown since we haven't started to listen to any of the remaining episodes

Current behaviour

The queue shows the remaining episodes, and one of them (random?) has the playback position set to 00:00:00.

Moreover, Reset playback position is unavailable unless I play the episode for a few seconds first...

That is by design because the next episode in the queue gets loaded (but not started). Then you just need to press the play button (on headset or notification) to start the next one

I disabled Continuous playback, so expected it to not "jump to the next queue item when playback completes"...

It doesn't play the episode. It just loads it so you don't need to open the app to play the next one. To indicate which one is loaded and will be played next when pressing the headset button, it shows a position of 00:00

If you don't typically consume your queue in order, this makes it a bit harder to distinguish episodes you've started playing from episodes the app at one point thought you might want to play next... Not a big deal, but maybe consider rephrasing the description of the Continuous playback setting to "play the next queue item when playback completes" (since the "jump to the next queue item" can't be disabled)?
