Describe the bug

Just came across this visual bug in the latest release. Whilst I had the album list in the background, and music playing in queue, when trying to bring the player controls up by either tapping or swiping the now playing bar, the UI did now draw on top of the album list. Not sure if it is easily reproducible but will report back if I notice any pattern with it.

How to reproduce

  1. Play some music
  2. Try to open the now playing screen

Expected behavior

Now Playing screen should always draw on top of other areas of the app.

Screenshots

Will screenshot the next occurrence

Environment details

  • Android version: Android 11 RC2

I've located an issue with the Now Playing view some time ago, where it would "collapse" (to the point of becoming a very thin line at the bottom of the screen) instead of expanding. Is this what you experienced?

If it is, it's a good thing you created this issue, even though I haven't had any luck reproducing it reliably or findind the cause as of yet. :/

I think that is essentially what happened, I do remember seeing a line at the bottom of the screen when the issue occurred. Also noted that it seems reluctant to go away when swiping down, but swipe gestures on 11 are a bit hit and miss at the moment.

I would love to tuck it under "Android 11" issues, but as far as I know, I got it on 10 as well.

I'll try and reproduce it, but no luck so far.

Managed to get the issue again, this time in the latest Tip release.
Looks like the draw isn't being collapsed to a line, but is instead being drawn too far down the screen.

Yeah, this is exactly the effect I clumsily tried to describe. ^^
