Someone from platform should do the CR, but we will want someone from QE to do the FR since I was not able to reproduce.

We are trying this now. We got the Nexus S to fail after 15 minutes.

CR accepted. I'm not sure if Eric's comment means it still fails FR though? If so I imagine it's a different bug (or at least a different Exception) since the code change is definitely looking for null now.

We have been trying to reproduce this for a while. We have been unable to with the pull. We are however running into 10012 when trying to reproduce. We will recommend to Neeraj that he consider merge or rejection without being able to reproduce the fail case.

I will sign off on the functional test. Was able to reproduce this on a Nexus 7, but with different test steps than
the ticket linked to this PR. Following the testing steps for TIMOB-10227 I was able to reproduce the Java NPE.
This fix does appear to resolve the NPE part of the problem.

Sorry the test steps from TIMOB-9285 reproduce this issue on the Nexus 7.
