what about uninstalling the uia2 once? I guess it failed to build properly.

Having the same issue. As you could see below, it looks for appium-ui-automator2-driver folder in the "wrong" path:
It is happening to my after node upgrade to v17.8.0 and upgrade UIAutomator to v2.0.5. Now it is fixed after installing UIAutomator v2.0.1 with:

@KazuCocoa, I've seen a problem here. It seems that, when you have one installed driver and try to install another one, it removes the previous one:

Appium 2.0.0-beta.25
As part of instantiating and starting an Android emulator I check for and install UIAutomator2:-
Much of the time this works. However, quite regularly Appium decides it cannot find UIAutomator2 and bombs.
Looking at the logs when it says it cant find it is even weirder:-
Line 2022-03-18 04:40:39:588 says all is good and UIAutomator2 installed and nice.
Then line 2022-03-18 04:40:39:615 comes along and says it cant find it.
I've not been able to fathom out why. Does anyone have any ideas?
