I'm trying to upload filemanager plugin to plugins directory but it keeps failing permission denied.

After installing script I can no longer access root. Only access system via initial user install.

Can you clarify how I edit files/add folders etc?

You can access root using sudo for individual commands, or login to root using the su command.

If you are logged in as your main non-root user, you should be able to install the plugin using 'sudo wget.......' or follow whatever installation instructions the developer provides.
