I think this happens when you are using a windows language that is not English. Some characters don't get easily rendered by the icon app. I can try to work on a fix, but I'm not sure how successful I'll be because it looks like the issue is arising from one of my dependencies, pystray, which is what I use to build the tray application.

I am trying to think about how to fix the problem, but it's hard to debug since I only speak English, and debugging in another language could be difficult. I have heard that python is really bad at character encodings. If you have any suggestions, or recommendations, let me know and I'll think about it / try to implement your fix. I changed the way that I parse the powercfg command that goes along with get_boost for the GUID of specific power plans, but I don't have a release for it. If you are comfortable, you could clone this repo and try to run it from source, or I could send you an executable. Whichever works for you.
