Hello. I quite like this idea. I've always wanted GitHub to be more Social Network-y.
I feel like I'd be less likely to use this as a separate app. Have you considered embedding the feed directly into the GitHub web app using a browser extension? Tools like ZenHub add extra buttons and functionality to GitHub. This app could either replace or augment the existing activity feed, or it could add a new page to the app similar to ZenHub's kanban page.

But I honestly have zero experience with browser extension. Also, I had never heard about ZenHub till now.
Sounds like a very good ideia, but we have a lot of work to do.
I will keep this issue open to get more feedbacks and people interested in work on it.
