Editing AsciiDoc files directly on GitHub is great. I have published a short video that demonstrate how great this is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dp_WFXB97k

  • Syntax highlighting
  • Preview (incl. diff)
  • Direct commit (or open a pull request for non-committers)

Quoting @mojavelinux:

This would make a great short tutorial on asciidoctor.org
Sometimes we forget that simple tips are the best tips. We can't assume everyone is in the know.

Related topic: importance of pull requests and of the "edit on GitHub link" (see this blog post).

This would work nicely as a standalone tutorial. It also makes me realize that we should have a "Working with AsciiDoc on GitHub" section in the user manual, which can incorporate parts (or all of) this tutorial.
