Sometimes you need to work outside the system

Today, Artsy had a big meeting room changeover. I had an ambitious plan to simplify various teams' daily standup books, but I followed the rules and did what I was told. Subsequently, my plan was nearly thwarted by other people who weren't following the rules. It was frustrating.

Someone gave me another solution: don't follow the rules either. I don't like this, but I am more and more open to the idea of working outside the rules. Setting something up with the IT person beforehand could have saved me over and hour of coordination work, haha.
