old version of rvsao in astroconda

Hi there,

I was just wondering why the iraf.rvsao package is only version 2.7.8, when the latest rvsao version 2.8.3 was released on July 6, 2015?

Just wondering if there is a specific important reason for this, or if not, whether it can be updated in astroconda?

Hi Tiffany,

Sorry you never received a reply to this question at the time you asked. Is it still of any interest to you? We provided a fairly complete set of external IRAF packages for the convenience of our users, but we don't actually use rvsao ourselves and have not been actively checking for updates. Since STScI has recently decided to drop support for Astroconda, Gemini will continue distributing the IRAF packages through our channel, http://astroconda.gemini.edu/public. I'm a bit tied up with urgent work just now, but if you still want this, let me know and I'll migrate the issue to our new repo so rvsao gets updated at some point.
