Two main issues with counters as UI elements composing the rule with the plugin:

When the overlay popup with the counter is shown, no background of the Atooma interface is visible. This way the user have no idea why or what for he is digiting numbers, since the popup shows up immediately without giving time to read the description.
To understand to what the numbers are reffering, you have to:

  • choose sphero - change color/drive as PE
  • overlay with counter shows up
  • press back
  • read the description of the field where you should input number (now you know)
  • tap on the empty field to make the overlay show again
  • digit the desired numbers NOW actually knowing what you are doing

So we have to find a way to inform the user why he is inputting the numbers.

The other issue is the number cap. Example: with colours the maximum allowed (to be read as RGB) is 255. But the counter arrives to 99.999. If it's not possible to fix the number cap, probably the best course of action is to offer a predifined set of options, excluding the counters. As per colours, As per speeds. (we can ask Francesca or Andrea to have more concrete ideas)
