Version 0.4.4 build failure #84
Comments
Hi @apinsard , I can not reproduce this. What command did you use to build the python module? Also, do you have another version of aubio installed on your system? thanks for your report, |
@piem Sorry I should probably have attached full build output, I updated my original post. The python module was build with
Indeed, it was compiled with aubio 0.4.3 on the system. So I made 3 tests to highlight the issue:

hi @apinsard , ok, thanks for testing! a check needs to be added in best, piem |
Well, I think the existence or absence of existing aubio instance in the system (whatever the version) shouldn't interfer with the build of another version at all. In source-based linux distributions, the newer (or older in case of downgrade) version of a package is always built before removing the current one. Removing the current version earlier might break other packages that depend on it. In particular, if the build fails for some reason, the current version must not be removed. Do you have an idea why this interference occurs ? I do not discard the possibility that the way we build aubio is faulty, but I don't think so. |
Hi @apinsard , the problem is that the version installed system-wise had missing features compared to the new one. i just added a check to make sure the system version is exactly the one being built, so you should be able to build it anyway. let us know how it works for you, |
Thanks @piem, I applied this patch and it works fine now! |
Great, thank you @apinsard for testing! |

inpython/ext/aubiomodule.c
.The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
