Using the AVCaptureView might work, or dip down to AVCapturePhotoOutput. ImageKit has some stuff but is woefully out of date.
Also support editing images before upload using NSSharingServicePicker. And drawing an image (which is just create a blank NSImage on-disk and invoke the MarkupUI extension through NSSharingServicePicker).
