Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables pangocairo_CFLAGS
and pangocairo_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.


But the libraries are installed:

mint-14 ~/avxsynth $ sudo apt-get install libcairo2-dev

I do not know how to adjust the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable.
I am also building from my home directory.

I have a stock LinuxMint 14 (nadia) system running ciannamon.
mint-14 3.5.0-17-generic #28-Ubuntu

You need to install:

Cairo sudo apt-get install libcairo2-dev
Pango sudo apt-get install libpango1.0-dev

The only officially supported distribution is Ubuntu.

I executed both commands.
Still, ImportError: No module named cairo
