Here's the official report from Microsoft:

On 31 March 2023, Event Grid on Azure IoT Edge public preview will be retired. Before that date, please transition to standard messaging protocol for IoT (MQTT) on Azure IoT Edge. Applications using Event Grid on IoT preview release will no longer be supported after 31 March 2023.

With the MQTT broker on Azure IoT Edge, you’ll be able to provide granular messaging between devices and connect to Azure IoT Edge Hub with ease. Here’s a quick comparison between Event Grid on Azure IoT Edge and MQTT broker on Azure IoT Edge.

From now through 31 March 2023, Event Grid on Azure IoT Edge preview version will not roll out new features and bug fixes. Critical security updates will be implemented.
