Currently there is no way to remove non-Bambu filament information from an AMS slot once it has been set manually.
I would like a way go delete filament details -- material and color -- from an AMS slot via Studio, Handy, and touchscreen. The slot would revert from showing a material (e.g. PLA, PVA, etc.) to "?".
Most of the time I don't need my AMS slots properly labeled. I know what's in them and can properly choose the slots when I print something. Studio, Handy, the printer, and the AMSes don't generally seem to care whether they're labeled or not.
However, sometimes a filament stays loaded to the printer -- such as after I cancel a print -- and I need to unload it, so I use the Unload button on the printer's touchscreen. It requires that I set the material (and color, for some reason) of the filament before it will unload, so I do so.
After that, it's impossible to clear that information. I can change it to another material and/or color, but not remove it. This is a problem when I load a material that is not in the list/menu of materials that can be set manually, e.g. PVB or BVOH. If I am using a filament profile that I've created for PVB or BVOH, and I have that material loaded in an AMS slot that is labeled with another material type, there is no way to get Studio to allow me to choose that slot for printing.
Removing the filament spool and loading it again doesn't clear the information. Even doing a full Load (to the hotend) and Unload doesn't change it. The only way I've found to clear it is to load a Bambu spool so that it reads the RFID tag and updates the information, then unload the Bambu spool and load the generic spool and it labels it as Unknown "?". That's a pain.
Full example: I have manually set AMS C slot 1 to PC, which was required to use the Unload button. I remove the generic PC spool and load a generic PVB spool. I have configured Studio to use PVB as filament #1, by manually entering PVB as the filament type in the Studio filament settings and choosing that filament profile. When I Print Plate, I try to choose AMS slot C1, but Studio doesn't allow it because the slot is still labeled as PC. I can't label the slot as PVB because that's not one of the options.
