Clients upload and host CSV data in the BCDC. BCDC does have an API that's been used as a data source. We managed this in AGOL. Would like to add an option to call data through BCDC's API.

Currently, one can reference only geoJSON via URL as a Vector Layer. It is very common to have CSV files available via the BC Data Catalogue, for example:

https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/2e469ff2-dadb-45ea-af9d-f5683a4b9465/resource/de425d68-a87f-44ce-ab4d-fcb514c04975/download/mental-health.csv

It would be beneficial to be able to reference a URL such as this and to be able to treat visualize it on the map. Every time a user starts a new session it would grab the data from the BCDC via URL.

In this particular case the data that is supplied to the BCDC and loaded to the BCGW is in a different (more raw) form. The CSV file is the result of post-processing that rolls up records to mappable values. Otherwise we'd simply use Geoserver to output geoJSON and be done with it

Update: we have opted to convert the CSV to geoJSON and host it in the BCDC. The draft map was repointed to that file, no problem!
