Release 2.0.0-alpha.1

This is a journey issue for collecting everything we need to do in order to release a 2.0.0-alpha.1 of this library. For now, this is everything that we perceive to be high priority for contributors' use cases.

2.0.0-rc.1 will be a release candidate that at least hits feature parity with stripity-stripe 1.4.

Although some of the issues may appear closed, many of the early ones (108-114) will have implemented only subsets of the actual surface area we want eventually.

This will be addressed later as we circle back.
