The internal Hive pageviews database includes view counts for redirects rolled up into the pages that are redirected to. The public API for pageviews does not do this.

It would be convenient if {waxer} automatically retrieved all the pages which are redirects to the requested page (using MediaWiki API) and requested those pages' view counts as well.

Note to self: in a tidy, transparent fashion the output would include the redirects and their view counts.
