Info
  • Version: 2.0
  • Source: Google Play
  • Vault encrypted: No
  • Device: Amazon Fire 7.0
  • Android version and ROM: Android 5.1.1, CyanogenMod 12.1
Steps to reproduce

Upgraded to the latest version. The application is configured in dark mode. When menu is selected it just shows a white rectangle without menu items. However menu items are present as selecting the area takes one to the correct screen. When light theme is selected menu items are visible - dark or black words on the medium grey background.

What do you expect to happen?

Menu is visible

What happens instead?

Menu items are not visible

Can you share a screenshot of what you're seeing? (Temporarily disable the "Screen security" option first)

This is a screenshot. I blacked out the accounts but they are clearly visible on the screen. The menu (white rectangle) is intact and shown like that on the screen. When I am using the Light Theme, the menu items show as a light grey text.
The menu is selectable even though I can't read it.

Thanks for the extra info. I'm not sure what's going on here. Someone with a Fire Tablet will have to do a deeper dive. Is Aegis the only app on your device that has odd theming issues?

I recall some other funky stuff going on with themes on Amazon Fire tablets. Like the theme being set to UI_MODE_NIGHT_UNDEFINED.

The tablet is not running amazon os, it is running cyanogen mod. As far as I can tell, the Aegis is the only app. I tried all of the themes and all of the dark themes have this issue. Both sort and setting menu have this issue - the font is invisible. What color menu should be with the light theme? Mine is dark text on darkish grey background. Almost invisible.

I installed Aegis on my amoled screen phone and the menu colors are completely different. In light mode the menu is white with black text. On the Fire tablet the menu is dark with the black text. I the dark mode, the correct menu is black with the white text. On the Fire tabled the menu is white with probably white text, since I can't see it.

@alexbakker I think there is a problem with popup theme styling. We have to send them an apk by removing the popup theme style to check if it's working

I will be happy to try this out. I no longer use this app because of this bug.
