We have been beta-testing the paid-tier version of Begin, and we're nearly ready to start opening that up to more folks. Please let us know here if you'd like to receive early access!

🙋‍♂️!

Does the long-term paid-tier roadmap include more AWS features (i.e. S3 uploads, EventBridge between apps, etc.)?

Fun fact: all free-tier Begin apps already have full S3 capabilities!

Our pro-tier, which has been in beta for a few months will have a few more capabilities than free-tier, including single tenancy and no limits on database usage, concurrency, etc.

Our enterprise tier, which we're currently working on, will have full access to any / all AWS resources.

Which AWS services are you looking to build with? What kinds of app(s) are you building?

I'm currently building a fulfilment/order management system over 2 apps: an app for e-commerce stores, and an app for fulfilment warehouses.

The AWS services I'm primarily looking to utilise:

  • SNS for application events and email notifications (@events looks like it will take care of this; though perhaps my desire to share events across apps isn't the correct architecture)
  • SQS for async tasks (I see @sheduled is on the way)
  • S3 uploads for dynamic, user-generated artwork (if this is already available, I likely missed the docs for it)
  • As the apps scale, the front-ends will eventually need websocket connections

A one-click solution to map my Route53 domains would be amazing, though I understand this is probably outside of the scope of your current goals.

All in all, Begin looks like the perfect solution to a problem that I've been struggling with for a year. I'm really excited to see what's next!
