This issue is the Berty official response to SubReddit : r/privacytoolsIO.

First of all, thanks all for talking about Berty. We are very pleased to read from you. Thank you for your inputs and comments. We are thrilled to share about Berty with you.

A bit of context: we've been building Berty over the past 2 years, but we are still very early in the process. In terms of roadmap, we spent more than a year building a POC, and for the last year, we have stabilized our technical choices + implementing our MVP. We are at the closed beta stage for the moment (that explains why there is no download link available on the site, for example 😉).

For those who have questions about the cryptography behind Berty, you can read our documentation (here), or dive into the code (here). We have nothing to hide; we're open source. We are well aware that's not enough. So, we plan to perform an independent security/crypto audit soon. Feel free to share our code to cryptographic & security experts you trust; we'll be glad to be audited by independent/community gurus!

Finally, a small clarification: we do not use Discord for support purposes. We use Discord as an easy and direct connection with our community. Our official support links are:

Sorry if you discovered us too early 😅 but let's not lose contact. So, subscribe to our newsletter and/or on Twitter to follow the project step by step and code report.

Thanks again :)

The Berty Team

(PS: thanks @brbposting for posting this here, haha, we now know why there are many new cool people on our discord :D)
