CornerStone 2.5.2 ApplePay button displayed but doing nothing

Expected behavior

Tapping on Apple Pay button should open the iOS Apple Pay

Actual behavior

Apple Pay button does nothing when tapping on it.

Steps to reproduce behavior

My CornerStone is using version 2.5.2. The theme has been modified and customised so much that I couldn't simply update the CornerStone to the latest version.

With my current theme the Apple Pay button does display on the Cart page. However, tapping on it doesn't do anything. I then tried to switch my site to the latest CornerStone version and the Apply Pay button works. It triggers the Apple Pay in iOS device and asked for login details.

Comparing the rendered Apple Pay button on the Cart page between my current theme v2.5.2 and the latest one shows me no differences. Apple script added to the header of my theme when inspecting source code using Dev Tool.

Has anyone experienced something like this? Any help would be very appreciated.

Hello @huy-tran, we've addressed your issue to the appropriate team for clarification. Meanwhile, we checked Apple Pay on Prod with latest Cornerstone version and it works fine, as you said.
For avoiding similar issues in the future though we recommend you switching to the latest Cornerstone version.

Thanks for looking at this issue proactively. As I described above my current site has been customised heavily so that it's really difficult to upgrade to the latest Cornerstone.

I have compared the latest Cornerstone with my version 2.5.2 for any occurrences of Apply Pay related and they looked good to me. Most of the changes I have seen so far is CSS related. I can see the Apple Pay button on the site but couldn't click on it. I don't know whether there are any internal changes.

Hello @huy-tran. We've dedicated some time for investigation of Apple Pay issue you had experienced. Apologies for long reply though.
We tested Apple Pay on Cornerstone 2.5.2 (here is the commit) and it works there, so it is not a BigCommerce side issue. As an option, we would propose you to compare original Cornerstone 2.5.2 on the commit I shared above, with your customised version in order to find a possible cause of Apple Pay not working.
Please let us know about results. If you still seeing this issue, then we will try to find another way to help you.
